The Cremona School of Dance (est. 1990) is based in Woking with branches in Horsell, Mayford and Halstead Preparatory School. The School is a traditional dancing school offering tuition for 3-18 year olds in Ballet (Cecchetti Method), ISTD Modern, Tap and the ever popular Jazz and Tap Awards. Classes are offered from Pre-Primary through to Advanced 2.

Pupils are trained to a high standard through a carefully structured programme with opportunities to take exams in all subjects. Alongside our own School shows, students are offered chances to audition for local productions at The New Victoria Theatre and the Rhoda McGaw Theatre. Talented children are encouraged to audition for The Royal Ballet School, The Cecchetti Associate Programme, London Junior and Senior Ballet, London Children’s Ballet and many other organisations.

Whether a child/student attends once weekly for fun or is considering dance as a career, every child matters. Our aim is to bring the joy of dancing into the studio through nurturing and encouragement. Every child is given the opportunity to incorporate skills developed in dancing, into many to other aspects of their lives. We seek to educate the students in dance; we don’t just instruct. Dance develops poise, self-discipline, musicality, rhythm and a highly increased physical and sensory awareness.

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is the world’s leading dance examinations board. Founded in 1904, today we are a registered educational charity providing training and qualifications for dance teachers and covering the full spectrum of genres from Ballet to Ballroom.

Modern Theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style which originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. This is a highly energetic dance style.

Our teachers are highly qualified, experienced professionals who are registered with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing ISTD). All staff are committed to ongoing professional development and are CRB checked.
